ECONOMICALLY EMPOWERING EMPOVERISHED COMMUNITITES
COR Community Development Corporation (COR CDC) is committed to economically empowering impoverished communities by forming partnerships with public and private sectors. Located in Orange County, our organization provides services in the areas of education, financial literacy, affordable housing and civic engagement. We specialize in meeting the needs of underrepresented and underserved communities and we pride ourselves in empowering individuals and families to experience financial freedom, educational competency and social relief.
“We believe that the church is more than a place of spiritual salvation. It must include financial salvation. We must be delivered from over-spending and under investing.”
- Pastor Mark Whitlock, President and CEO
COR CDC has a catalog of more than 600 affordable housing units, more than 2500 residents throughout the state of California. Our programs serve, feed, and educate more than 700 families every year and our youth immerse themselves in over 125 hours in community service, character building and team work. We have provided more than $300,000 in scholarships to nearly 200 undergrad/graduate students.
Our Corporation is in the perfect position to offer credit repair counseling, debt reduction advice, the basic of budgeting, teaching interview skills, resume building, basic technological skills, consumer education, affordable housing information and more.
Our goal is to find 10 more partners who will empower us to move the message of financial literacy into alternative schools, young families, and faith-based organizations. COR Community Development Corporation, 501 (3) (c) nonprofit arm of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church has set itself apart as trailblazers of hope, opportunity and community change.
“Many people have big dreams and big goals however, some of the foundational principles like creating a budget, writing a check, opening a bank account, even dealing with some of the nuances that come along with educational and business opportunities, our communities are not as well versed.”
- Rev. Charles Dorsey, Executive Director
